From personal knowledge I can share a few facts with you. When a letter is sent to Africa, it takes at least 10 days to travel either way, however that was before the recent flooding. I am not sure what the time frame is now.

If you wish to send household goods, clothing, non-perishable foods, medical supplies, bedding, shoes, anything, the ground rates for a box weighing approximately 16 pounds is approximately $35.00 to be sent via US Postal rates. Goods travel by ship & take around 6 weeks to reach Africa.

Immediate Needs

  • Donations of Food, Clothing, shoes, household goods, medical supplies are in dire need.

  • Water, a basic neccessity

  • Shipping Items - Need help in securing other ways to get goods to Africa. Please email txla@mail.com if you can assist in any way.

  • Collection centers, or coordinators throughout the United States. (Newspaper articles & pictures from the Lake Charles Associated Press & the Orange County Register located in Orange County, CA, will be provided, once we have secured permission to use them. I am presently working on these issues.
